The Saint John String Quartet is actively involved in the local community including the "Quartet in the Classroom" The Objective of “Quartet in the Classroom” is to introduce classical music and musicians to school aged children in New Brunswick. The Saint John String Quartet play to over 10,000 children in schools presenting programs specially designed for appropriate age groups. “Marvelous Mozart”, “The Musical Petting Zoo”, “The Lost String Quartet”, are examples of the innovated presentations. We believe our program helps to demystify classical music and musicians and invites young people to think openly about creative endeavors. “Quartet in the Classroom” is offered to 30 schools at no cost to them. From the south end of Saint John to Pennfield, Blacks Harbor, Saint Stephen and to the new schools of Quispamsis and Hampton children of all walks of life have this opportunity. Sensitive to our linguistic diversity programs can be offered in both English and French. For many children this will be the first time to hear live classical music and musicians.

The Quartet would like to thank: The MacMurray Foundation, The James Venner Russel Foundation, The Saint John Community Arts Board, The Greater Saint John Community Foundation and the Fisher Foundation for their support to the community.
